Crooked Creek has been doing business for almost 20 years. At first it started with John Tharnish and his sister, Virginia Tharnish. They sold to smaller farmers’ markets, within years, the business had grown into four full markets attended every Saturday. Des Moines, Fort Dodge, and Storm Lake in Iowa and Omaha, Nebraska. As of 2009, John decided it was time to take a break and enjoy life a bit more. Ever since, we have been taken care of the business more and more.
Crooked Creek strives to grow tasty, quality vegetables and fruits through environmental friendly methods and sell these at a local, fresh markets and stores.
Our vision is to become a leading vegetable and fruit farm in the mass production of fresh produce in the Midwest while keeping our high-standards of quality and taste.
Also, we understand that we can’t possibly grow produce outside during the winter months, so in the future we will be looking into greenhouse operations, which we don’t currently have.
